Written for a solo female performer who sings, plays classical guitar and acts; Kum Tanesi is a dramatic music theatre piece. It is based upon the Turkish poem Kum Tanesi(Grain of Sand) written by Aybala Deniz. The poem as well as the performance, focuses on the melancholy of life and at the end of the day, how insignificant human life is. One can witness a constantly shifting mind state and the psychological drama within this process during the performance.
